Where do you turn with your big career questions? If you’ve hit a bump in the road, if you’re given the choice of a new job opportunity, or you’re not sure how to prioritize your big life and career goals who do you ask for help? Big corporations, non-profits and businesses have a board of directors that help them navigate the waters of success and you should too. Learn why you need a personal board of directors, who should be on your board and how to utilize these mentors wisely.
Donna Warrick: “The Power of You”
1) Creating clarity: What is clarity of purpose? How to find your why. When you find your why, create the how (focus). 2) The confidence factor: What makes it a foundational part of being a leader? Are you playing not to lose or are you playing to win? Characteristics of the confident leader. How do you become more self-confident? 3) The power of networking and having a mentor: The lie of “going it alone”, ways to make it feel more natural, benefits of having a mentor, and maximizing your mentor relationship. 4) Defining your leadership brand: What it is, and why it’s important.
10:30-11:15am: Plenary panel featuring Jennifer Shoffner, Vice President of Human Resources and Information Technology of Liberty Hardware, and Cheryl Feltgen, Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of Arch MI. Our panelists will discuss their leadership journeys as female executives in male-dominated fields.
